The Hotel Job Redesign Initiative (HJRI) was launched by Ms Low Yen Ling, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Education & Ministry of Manpower, at the inaugural Hotel Human Capital Conference on 31 May 2019. More than 200 hoteliers attended the launch event.
Organised by the Hotel Human Capital Advisory Committee which is led by Singapore Hotel Association and supported by Workforce Singapore, Singapore Tourism Board, and Food, Drinks and Allied Workers Union, the inaugural Hotel Human Capital Conference brought together thought leaders and progressive hotels to discuss best practices in human capital development for the hotel industry.
The Hotel Job Redesign Initiative (HJRI) represents a key milestone in the overall transformation journey of the hotel industry. It encourages and enables hoteliers to review and optimise existing jobs in the sector, in order to create high quality jobs and a heightened sense of job satisfaction amongst the employees.
Through HJRI, hoteliers at different stages of their transformation journey will have easy access to resources to support their job redesign efforts. These resources include a series of Job Redesign workshops and an online Job Redesign toolkit, which highlights the key outcomes achieved by hotels already doing job redesign. You can find more information on HJRI and access the online toolkit via https://sha.org.sg/job-redesign.
