The SHA-NEA 3R Awards and Seminar for Hotels was held on 19 September 2018 at Concorde Hotel Singapore.

The award aims to recognise the efforts of hotels that have demonstrated their commitment to 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) and performed well in solid waste minimisation and management. The award is an extension of the 3R Programme for Hotels.

The Guest-of-Honour, Dr Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources and Ministry of Health presented awards to the following winners:

Following the award ceremony, the National Environment Agency (NEA) presented a summary of notable 3R practices hotels are currently practising to encourage more hotels to come onboard.

Held in conjunction with the award ceremony was the 3R Seminar for Hotels, which covered the following presentations:

“How hotels can contribute towards Environmental Sustainability”, By Ms Maxine Chen, Sustainability Communications Specialist, APAC, Interface

“E-waste recycling in Singapore” By Mr Lawrence Low, Head of Sales, Asia Pacific, TES

“Fruit Waste to Value” By Mr Jeremy Lee, Co-Founder, UglyGood

A mini-exhibition showcasing waste minimisation solutions was also held alongside the event.
