The Annual Hotel Security Awards Presentation Ceremony was held on 22 October 2015 at the Novotel Singapore Clarke Quay. The awards were jointly presented by SHA, SPF and NCPC.
The Guest-of-Honour for the event was Mr Amrin Amin, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs.
Three categories of Awards for individuals and one for organizations were given out.
Security Awards for Individual Employees
The individual awards were for Honesty, Bravery and Vigilance. A total of 18 nominees were singled out for Special Mention.
Security Award for Hotels
83 hotels were recognized for their contribution towards the high standard of security in the Singapore hotel industry. Out of the 83 hotels:
• 67 of them will be receiving the “Hotel Security Excellence Award” for achieving the *SS545:2009 – Singapore Standard for Hotel Security, which is the first established standard for hotel security in the world.
• 16 of them will be presented with the “Hotel Security Award” for establishing good security measures based on *SS545 standards.
This year, the hotel category award marks its 20th edition, which is a significant milestone for the Hotel industry. 10 hotels will be awarded the “Hotel Security Star Award” for having received either the “Hotel Security Excellence Award” or the “Hotel Security Award” for 20 consecutive years for their commitment in ensuring a safe and secure hotel environment.
